About Preference Cards

You use the Preference Cards module to create, delete, print and manage changes to preference cards.

Using Preference CardsPreference Cards contain all of the materials and devices used for a specific surgical procedure and/or surgeon. in the scheduling process assists schedulers by automatically pulling details preset on the card such as anesthesia type, CPT® codes and equipment onto the appointment screen. Schedulers can assist clinical staff by printing the preference card, which provides a pick list for supplies, details about the room setup and any other surgeon preferences.

The end goal of using Preference Cards in your scheduling process is to display the information contained in the preference card in the Clinical Documentation Management (CDM) module for inventory and billing purposes.

Your preference cards are specific to your Business EntityA Business Entity (BE) typically represents a unit of business within a given database. The business can be an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), a physician's practice, an Anesthesia Billing unit, etc. Whether or not a BE is related to another BE within the same database is simply based on the business relationship between the two entities. They can be an ASC/Practice Management combination or an ASC/Anesthesia Billing combination, for example. BEs, whether related or not, typically have separate Federal Tax ID numbers. and are not shared with other facilities within your Business GroupA grouping of Business Entities that are "in business" with each other. These entities are usually owned by the same parent company or corporation. However, in some cases, they are separately owned, but they agree to share certain data across the Business Entities, so users do not need to continually re-enter patient data..
