About Cost Management
Cost Management is available in Ambulatory Surgery Center and Surgical Hospital Business Entities only. The information found here is Business Entity specific. Costing reports can be run for individual cases or groups of cases.
Costing reports can be run for Actual Costs or Estimated Costs. When run for Actual Costs the system will use the data entered into Clinical Documentation Management (CDM ) for the selected case. Estimated costs will be calculated based on the preference cards. You can also elect to include revenue in the costing report.
Cost will be calculated based on information obtained from the following areas:
- Fixed Cost ( See Budget Dictionary.)
- Direct Cost (See Human Resources or Staff Role Dictionary.)
- Supply Resource Dictionary (supplies, equipment, instrument cost) pulled into Preference Cards. (See Supply Resource Dictionary and Preference Cards.)
- Variable Cost (See Budget Dictionary)Budget Dictionary.)
