Master Person Index
The Master Person Index (MPI) stores information on each person entered into AmkaiOffice, regardless of the role assigned to the person or the module from which the person was entered into the database. The MPI stores names and other demographic data such as addresses, phone numbers, contact information, Social Security Numbers, Dates of Birth, etc.
When demographic data is changed in any module, the person's record is updated in the MPI. Users with appropriate user role permissions can access this up-to-date data from any module in the system using the Person - Patient selection dialogPerson - Patient selection dialog.
Person
Everyone entered into AmkaiOffice is considered a Person, regardless of their role. Persons can include patients, guarantors, policy holders, physicians, staff members, emergency contacts, etc. When searching for a Person record, select the Person search filter on the Person - Patient selection dialog to view a list of everyone entered into the system. To retrieve Person and Patient information, your user Role permissions must include viewing Persons and Patients.
Patient
When a Person is assigned an Account Number, he or she becomes classified in the system as a Patient. Only Patients have Account Numbers. When you select the Patient filter on the Person - Patient selection dialog, only those Persons who have been assigned an Account Number will be listed.
