Adjusting Standard Fees Automatically

You can adjust a group of standard fees at one time using the Auto-Populate feature in the System Administration module.

To adjust standard fees using the Auto-Populate feature

  1. From the System Administration Sheet Bar, select Dictionary > Fee Schedule.

  2. Enter the date you would like for the new fee schedule to become effective in the dialogdialog that appears and click OK.

  3. The fee schedule tablefee schedule table is loaded to the screen.

  4. Click the Auto Populate button (bottom left of the fee schedule table). The Standard Fee Maintenance dialogStandard Fee Maintenance dialog appears.

  5. Identify which fees you would like to update using the following fields:

    • Fee from/through: (Mandatory) Define a dollar value range that includes all current standard fees that you wish to update. For example, to update all standard fees from $0.01 to $10,000.00, enter those amounts in the Fee from/through fields.

    • Procedure type: Select a specific type of procedure to be updated or leave this field blank to update all procedure types. (Procedure Type is associated to Procedures in the Procedure Dictionary.)

    • Type of service: Select a specific type of service to update or leave this field blank to update all service types. (Type of Service is associated to Procedures in the Procedure Dictionary.)

  1. This dialog enables you to set new standard fees in two ways:

    • Increase by percentage: If you would like to increase the current standard fees by a percentage enter the percentage here. Or,

    • Increase by amount: If you would like to increase the current standard fee by a specific amount enter the amount here.

Note: The Increase by percentage and Increase by amount fields can be used separately or together. If you select to increase by 10% and increase by $500.00 the system, will calculate the percent increase then add the $500.00 to that amount to arrive at the new standard fee.

  1. Rounding: (Mandatory) In addition to selecting an "Increase by" method, you will need to select a method of rounding the new standard fee up to the nearest $1.00, $5.00 or $10.00 increment.
  2. Click OK to save your changes and return to the fee schedule table, where the new standard fee amounts are shown.
  3. Repeat these steps if you would like to adjust the fees for additional groups of procedures/service types.
  4. When you are finished adjusting fees, click Apply to commit to the new standard fees, or Cancel to discard your changes.
